A New Start

We have been in Virginia for about a month now, and let me tell you, it has been one crazy month! But we are here and we feel like this is the place for us and we have been really blessed! Let me tell you a little of what has happened over the past 4 weeks.
We used a moving van to drive our stuff across the country... I'm not going to mention any names! While on the road we had a few adventures with our new truck that included some major sparking and a tire that burst and an early night in a hotel. But we got those fixed and kept on truckin' (he he, no pun intended!). When we got here and were putting our stuff in storage we got to the back of the truck to find that there was a leak and our mattress and our couch were soaked with water! Luckily the company was very understanding and made sure we were taken care of.. but the whole process took about three weeks and I am so glad to have it done with!
Last week a friend of the family hired us to take care of their 3 kids while they went on a business trip to Mexico for a week. The kids were 15, 13 and 10 and Sean and I had so much fun! The kids were absolutely incredible and so much fun to watch! They kept us busy with all their la cross, baseball and basketball practices and guitar lessons. We loved being so busy and going to see all their games, it reminded us of our families when we were growing up. What a job! I would do that full time if I could! Anyways we were sad when their parents came back and we had to leave, but promised we would come watch some more of their games and keep in touch.
Now to the thing that has kept us most occupied... the JOB SEARCH. Can I tell you that looking for a job, especially in an economy like this one, is NO FUN! We both have been to so many interviews and asked so many questions. But I guess it has all paid off because on Thursday Sean got a Job offer!! We are so excited because he really likes what he will be doing and there is a lot of room for growth for him personally and professionally. We feel so blessed to have found something when everyday in the news you hear about people getting laid off of work. We know that we are supposed to be out here and we are looking forward to the future!
As for me, I am still looking. I had tree interviews this past week and they all sounded positive. One lady I interviewed with told me she had 500 applicants!!! That is crazy! But I must have done pretty well because I have a second interview with her next week... I will keep you updated!
We are so happy to be in Virginia and starting this new phase of our life, moving forward and making new friends out here. We miss our old friends and hope they know that we miss them AND that they are always welcome to come visit! Love you guys!
