1st Weeks at Home
Kelsey's Arrival!
Our little girl is finally here!
July 8th I went in for one of my regular check ups. I was 4 cm dilated and 80% effaced but since I wasn't having any real contractions she sent me home telling me that if I started having any to call right away. I went back to work but by lunch time I was having pretty consistant back pain. I waited 30 mins and called Sean and my doctor. We went back in and she decided to admit me. We drove to the hospital, were going to have our baby!!
I was admitted at 1 pm. I walked around trying to get things going. Finally (after almost sending me home)They broke my water and I got my epidural at about 5 pm. By 4:30 a.m. I was 10 cms and ready to push. My wonderful OBGYN waited around and stayed on her day off to deliver our baby. She got there and I pushed for about 30 mins. At 5:12 a.m Kelsey Neumann was born, 8 lbs 3 oz. and 21 inches long!

Our BIG, Little Girl!
So every week I get e-mails from all of these different baby sites updating me on what our little baby is doing that week, what is developing, how big she is, how long, etc. Last week I was 29 weeks and I got an e-mail saying "your baby is getting bigger, she is almost 3 pounds!!" The next day I had a Dr. Appointment and ultra sound where they measured how big she was (by measuring her bones, skull etc.). She is 3 Pounds 12 Ounces!!! I am measuring at 31.5 weeks, almost 3 weeks ahead of schedule. Now 12 ounces doesnt seem like much, but considering she is going to be gaining a 1/2 a pound every week from here on out for 11 more weeks... thats 5 1/2 more pounds (if she stays on track which she hasn't yet!) That would put her at almost 10 Pounds just growing normally!
One of my best friends, Dani, Just had a baby... she was in labor for 6 mins!! I asked her what the trick was... She said, dont marry someone who produces big babies. I guess I missed that boat!
Big or not, we are SOOO excited for our little girl to get here. We know it will be a big change in our lives but it is a change that we are very excited for. I'm sure there are going to be many ups and downs and good times and hard times, but we just cant wait for this new little life to come! Every night in our prayers we say thank you for sending her to us and we are trying to get ourselves as ready as possible.
We finally finished her room and I washed and put all of her clothes away so it will be all ready for her when she gets here. We went out and bought a really nice padded rocking chair that lays back and I am soo excited about it! If Sean doesnt know where I am, he can usually find me up in her room in that chair. Its Super comfortable and I am sure I will be speding plenty of time in it in the coming months.

Busy Busy Busy!
Well I always feel like I am playing catch up with our blog but we really have been soo busy!We finished painting our house just in time for my parents and brother and sister to come out from Utah for Thanksgiving. It was really fun to have our first Thanksgiving in our first house. My mom came out and helped me cook and it was so fun to have them here.

We have had a really fun holiday season. We have gotten to spend a lot of time with Sean's family and it has been great!

About a week before Christmas we got a HUGE snowstorm... they called it the Blizzard of '09. We got about 19 inches at our house and loved every minute of it! Too bad it happened over the weekend so we didn't get to miss any work :)

We have a playground in our backyard and Sean thought it would be fun to play on it in the snow...

We also went to the Washington D.C. Temple to see all the Christmas lights they put up.. over 1/2 a million!
