Our New HOUSE!!

After many requests... I have finally gotten pictures up of our new house!!! We are so excited to finally have a space of our own and I love having all of our furniture and being able to decorate the way I want to and just making it OUR house. We are so grateful to be fortunate enough to be in a position where we are able to buy and have been so blessed! I posted pictures of the house empty or with their furniture and then after we had moved our stuff in so you can see the difference. Let me warn you... the people we bought the house from had a... interesting choice in paint colors. We plan on changing that VERY soon!

So we bought an end unit town home so this is the view from the street. We have a cute little porch and a pretty good size lot.
Our front door and my Halloween decorations :) you can kind of see the pot of flowers Joanne gave us as a housewarming gift.
So when we moved in, the people had not mowed the lawn for probably a month or more so it was like a jungle in our backyard. Anyone who knows Sean knows he LOVES to mow the lawn so of course, the first night we were there as soon as he got the lawn mower put together he was in the backyard mowing away!

This is what we call the princess room... the people who lived here before had a little girl and she had EVERYTHING princess.....as you can see even the closet is painted as is the ceiling. Like I said before... interesting... Sean insists that it is the first to go!

This is the guest room empty the day we moved in. The color is horrible!! I really do not know what they were thinking!! Ahh! I guess it will keep sean and I something to do over the winter!
Here is the room with our guest bed and furniture in it... it looks comfy huh??Come and stay with us! We had our very first guests come like 4 days after we moved in. Seans cousin Jeff and his wife Lindsey who we absolutely love came to stay. We loved having them and can't wait to have more guests.
Here is the master bedroom. We couldnt really tell when we first looked at the house because there was so much stuff in it, but it is actually really big! And it has large windows that let in a lot of sunlight which I love. Right outside those windows is the playground for the complex so its a nice view too :)
Our Bathroom....
The shower curtain that took me FOREVER to pick out...

Our new King size bed... We Love it! Sean loves being able to spread out when he sleeps. He said there were 3 things that he could not wait for when we got in the house 1.) our king size bed. 2.) not to have to share a closet with me (ha ha can't blame him) and 3.) the garage!

Get ready for some very yellow paint...practically the whole main level is painted this mustard yellow color. That is going ASAP!
Empty main level.. living room and formal dining room.
Our New couch!Sean wanted one with a chaise so he could lay down and watch football in the winter. We love it! I love this room because it has 4 huge ceiling to floor windows that the sun shines in every morning. It makes me want to get up in the morning (which is amazing in itself)

The main floor powder room empty...
...and decorated!!
Here is the kitchen before we moved in. This house did not need a lot of work but the one thing we felt like we absolutely HAD to do was to get new flooring. The carpet was pretty old and dirty and we got tile in the kitchen so notice the "before" and "after"

TA DA!!!! It looks so so so much better! I love this kitchen! It is a pretty good size and everything looks so nice!

Our Dining room with our new table and chairs!
This house even has a cute "basement"(its ground level) with a fireplace and everything! The sliding glass door goes out to our yard and the play area and the room has beautiful bamboo flooring. I haven't quite decided what to do with this room yet... any ideas??

Anyways, we are really excited and cant wait for this next stage in our life and the adventures it will bring!

Summa Time!

So While I am waiting to get picture of our house, I will put up some posts of things we have done this summer. We were lucky enough to get to go to Sun Valley, Idaho with Seans family for a week of golf and relaxation! If you have never heard of Sun Valley ( I hadn't until I met Sean) it is a really cute small town up in the mountains and the Neumann's favorite vacation spot.

Our little nephew Camden is so cute! We had a blast spending time with him and the rest of the Neumann Clan. He was just getting into the stage where he would smile at you. So Cute!

We also took family pictures since everyone was there. This is Sean and I's "couples" shot.

Camden (or Justin) decided that he should try out ice skating.. just give him another couple years and he will be a pro!

I never realized why Sean loved to go Ice skating when we were dating, but now I understand. It all started right here many years ago. They had this great outdoor skating rink right in the middle of the little complex and its so fun to go during the day when its warm!

Out to dinner on the town. This was an amazing steakhouse that we tried out.

The first day we were there we went on a bike ride and it was soo beautiful! We rode about 20 miles which I had never done before but it was probably one of my favorite things on the trip. AThe trail was flat so it wasnt too hard and we had a blast riding and enjoying the mountain air. I didnt realize how much I miss the mountains!

Big News!

Wow it has been a long time! I wonder if anyone even bothers checking our blog anymore? Probably not but I will write anyways :)

It's been a pretty crazy Summer for Sean and I but we have had a lot of fun and have been really blessed. In April we started house hunting and made a couple offers with no luck (what housing crisis?!?!). Each house we made an offer on had at least 5 offers above list price. The third time was the charm though, we found a house we absolutely LOVE and our offer was accepted by the seller in May. Unfortunately it was a short sale and we spent 3 very nervous months anxiously awaiting to hear from the bank about if they would accept our offer. Finally at the beginning of August everything went though and we have been getting everything done and ready to settle. Our closing date is September 18th and we move in the 19th! We are about 2 weeks out and have everything done.. all that is left now is to wait! :) After 8 months of waiting for this, I think I can wait 2 more weeks. I promise to put up pictures as soon as we get in and get things a little organized. Its a 3 story end unit townhouse with 3 bedrooms, lots of room vaulted ceilings and a 2 car garage (which is Sean's favorite part!). We are super excited to get in there and get settled into our own little place.

The Neumann's have been so nice to let us stay with them and we would not have been able to get started in a place like this without them. D.C. is soooo Expensive! I cant even believe it! Not only houses and property, but groceries and clothes... everything! It's like a 20% mark up from everywhere else! Crazy! Anyways, we have been really blessed with them letting us stay with them and we were able to get and keep good jobs through this rough economic time. Things have really just fallen into place for us out here and we feel so grateful.

We have made some really good friends out here. I have a group of girls that I get together to do YOGA or some kind of excercise every week and I have really enjoyed that. Sean has some good guys that he works with and I love the girls that I work with. We are both just really happy. Things are working out for us, although a lot of times it takes us a while to see... I have such a good husband and good family and In-Laws, I cant think of a time in my life where I have been this happy!

I promise to put pictures up of the house soon and be better about writing!
